UrScout Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 4, 2026 Last updated: June 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data UrScout collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. UrScout is operated by Trov Ventures LLC ("UrScout," "we," "us") with a registered address in New Jersey, United States. If you have questions, email us at help@urscout.app.

1. What we collect

We collect only what UrScout needs to alert you to sports collector events that match your interests.

Category What it is Why we collect it
Account identity Email address and (optional) display name from Sign in with Apple. Apple may give us a relay email instead of your real address; that's your choice. To create your account, restore it across devices, and contact you about service issues.
Account identifier A unique identifier we generate for your account (a UUID). To link your profile, preferences, saved events, and engagement history together internally, and to target push notifications to the right person.
Location (coarse + precise) Your approximate location when the app is open, and your saved home ZIP or coordinates if you set one. To match nearby events to your search radius. We do not track your location in the background and we do not collect a movement history.
Your preferences The leagues, teams, athletes, categories, and free-text "holy grail" experience you tell UrScout to watch. To personalize your alerts. This is the core of how UrScout works.
Product interaction Which events you tap, save, or click through to. To improve alert quality over time and surface events you'd find relevant.
Device push identifier A push subscription ID from OneSignal, paired with your UrScout account identifier. To send the alert notifications to your specific device.
Diagnostics Crash reports, error breadcrumbs, and performance traces via Sentry. To find and fix bugs and slowness. These reports do not include your personal identity by default.

We do not collect: contacts, photos, microphone, camera, calendar, health, financial information, or browsing history outside UrScout.

2. What we do NOT do

3. Who processes your data on our behalf

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run UrScout. They process data on our instructions and are bound to keep it confidential.

Provider Purpose Where they store data
Apple, Inc. Sign in with Apple authentication; push notification delivery infrastructure; subscription billing. United States.
Supabase, Inc. Database and application backend (your account, preferences, saved events). United States (AWS-hosted).
OneSignal, Inc. Push notification routing and delivery. United States.
Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) Crash and error reporting. United States.

We will update this list if we change providers.

4. Subscription billing

UrScout charges a subscription fee through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not see your payment method or card number. Apple handles all billing, refunds, and Family Sharing per its own terms. We receive only a confirmation that your subscription is active and what tier you're on.

5. Your choices and rights

You can:

If you are a resident of California, the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing), those rights apply. Email help@urscout.app to exercise them.

6. Children

UrScout is rated 4+ in the App Store but is built for adult collectors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, email help@urscout.app and we will delete the account.

7. Data retention

8. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: encrypted transport (HTTPS / TLS), per-user row-level security on the database, and least-privilege access for the small team that operates UrScout. No system is perfect — if we ever discover a breach that affects your data, we will notify you in a timely manner as required by law.

9. International users

UrScout is operated from the United States. If you use UrScout from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using UrScout, you consent to that transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you inside the app or by email before the change takes effect. Your continued use of UrScout after a change means you accept it.
