How UrScout works

What is UrScout? UrScout is a personal scout for sports collectors. You tell us the athletes, teams, leagues, and event types you care about. We watch every shop, signing company, show, and mail-in across our coverage area. When something matches, we push it to your lock screen. No browsing, no scrolling.

Where does UrScout work? V1 covers New York City, New Jersey, and the surrounding tri-state area. We add coverage areas as our verified-source network grows.

Where do your events come from? A curated set of verified sources we trust: official promoter sites (White Plains, NJ Card Show, Tristar), brand pages (Topps, Panini, Fanatics), auction houses (Heritage, Goldin, Lelands), and signing companies (Steiner, Fanatics Authentic). We don't pull from random social posts — quality over volume.


Setting up your alerts

How do I change my interests? Profile tab → Interests. You can edit your leagues, teams, athletes, categories, and holy grail any time.

My alerts feel too noisy. Narrow your interests in Profile. Removing categories you don't care about (for example, mail-ins or memorabilia auctions) usually cuts noise the fastest.

My alerts feel too quiet. Try widening your search radius in Profile → Location, or add more athletes and teams. You can also check the Explore tab — it shows everything in your area regardless of your filters.

What's a "holy grail"? The one signing or athlete you'd drive anywhere to meet. Type it in Profile → Your holy grail. If an event matches it, we send you a special "holy grail" alert.


Push notifications

I'm not getting any alerts. Two checks:

  1. iOS Settings → UrScout → Notifications must be turned on
  2. In UrScout → Profile → Alerts should show "Alerts on"

If both look right and you're still not getting pushes, delete and reinstall the app. That usually fixes a stale push registration.

Why didn't I get an alert for an event? Most often: the event was outside your search radius, or none of your interests matched. Tap into the event in Explore to see why. If you think we missed it, email help@urscout.app.

Can I control how often you ping me? We only push when something matches. We don't send daily digests. If your interests are broad, you may get several pushes per day; narrowing your filters is the way to slow things down.


Subscription, free trial, and billing

How much does UrScout cost?

How do I cancel? Apple handles all billing. Cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → UrScout → Cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal to avoid the next charge.

Deleting the app doesn't cancel my subscription? Right. Deleting the app removes it from your phone but doesn't tell Apple to stop billing you. Cancel in iOS Settings (see above).

Can I get a refund? Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the UrScout charge, and request a refund. Apple decides whether to issue it; we don't have access to that decision.

Does Family Sharing work? Yes. Your subscription works for everyone in your Apple Family Sharing group, per Apple's standard Family Sharing terms.

What if I started a free trial and want to cancel before being charged? Cancel in iOS Settings (see above) at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You'll keep access through the end of the trial.


Account and privacy

How do I delete my account? Profile tab → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, saved events, preferences, and engagement history within 30 days. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription — you still need to cancel that in iOS Settings separately.

What data do you collect? The short version: email (from Sign in with Apple), location (only when the app is open, for radius matching), your preferences (interests, holy grail), your interaction with events (saves, taps), and crash reports. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps. The full version is at urscout.app/privacy.

Can I get a copy of my data? Yes — email help@urscout.app and we'll send you a copy within 30 days.


Reporting an event or an issue

I saw an event in UrScout that's been cancelled or moved. Email help@urscout.app with the event name and what's wrong. We update the source within a day.

I attended an event listed in UrScout and it wasn't what was advertised. Sorry. Event details come from the host or source; we can't guarantee what happens on the day. Email us if you'd like us to drop that source from our network.

Something in the app is broken. Email help@urscout.app with a screenshot if you can. Include the version number from the bottom of the Profile tab — it helps us reproduce.
